JK Cement reports 39% rise in revenue

India’s JK Cement has reported a standalone net profit of INR633.4m (US$8.65m) for the quarter ending 31 March 2021, compared to INR2.3m in the year-ago period. Net revenue also advanced 38.9 per cent YoY to INR20.52bn from INR14.77bn in the 4QFY19-20. The company’s operating profit reached INR4.39bn, up 26.8 per cent from INR3.46bn in the same period of the previous fiscal.

JK Cement sees net profit surge 106%

India’s JK Cement has reported a 105.5 per cent YoY rise in standalone net profit to INR2.24bn (US$30.1m) for the quarter ending 30 September 2020, compared to INR1.09bn in the year-ago period. Net revenue also advanced 23.6 per cent to INR15.51bn from INR12.54bn in the 2QFY19-20. The company’s operating profit climbed 61.7 per cent YoY to INR4.12bn from INR2.54bn.

JK Cement commissions 0.7Mta Gujarat unit

India’s JK Cement has commissioned and begun commercial dispatches from its new Gujarat unit. "The company has successfully commissioned 0.7Mta of grey cement grinding capacity at JK Cement works, Balasinor, Gujrat, unit of JK Cement and also commenced commercial dispatches today, ie 8 October 2020," said the company. The company has now completed its planned 4.2Mta grey cement capacity expansion from its units in Rajasthan (2Mta), Uttar Pradesh (1.5Mta) and Gujarat (0.7Mta).

JK Cement estimates cement sales volumes for 1QFY21

India’s JK Cement has estimated that its grey cement sales dropped 20 per cent YoY during the first quarter of FY20-21, compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. However, the company noted that sales volumes are picking up gradually. Elsewhere, its white cement business saw a 50 per cent drop in sales during the 1QFY20-21, according to India Infoline. Capital expenditure during the current financial year is expected to be limited to INR7bn (US$93.27m).

India’s JK Cement has reported a 99.9 per cent decline in net profit to INR2.3m (US$30,194) in the final quarter of FY19-20, compared with INR1.5bn in the year-ago period. India’s JK Cement has received permission from the relevant authorities to commence operations at its Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana sites, alongside work at its new project in Gujarat.
