Peru’s Jan-Nov demand advances 7.5% YoY

Cement dispatches in Peru fell from 939,135t in October to 896,600t in November. However, the country’s cement companies produced 920,636t, up from 916,774t the previous month and cement exports rose from 18,090t to 23,236t during the period. For January to November, Peruvian cement demand increased by 7.45 per cent YoY to 9,408,853t while exports rose 5.33 per cent to 182,427t. Around 9,598,552t of cement was produced, an advance of 6.9 per cent when compared with Jan-Nov 2012.

Thang Long delivers export shipment to Peru

Thang Long Cement JSC has exported 30,000t of bulk cement to Peru, its first shipment to the country and largest consignment so far this year. Cement shipments in Peru reached 939,135t in October, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. For the Jan-Oct period, deliveries increased by eight per cent YoY. Asocem members exported 18,090t of cement in October.

Peru’s Cementos Pacasmayo net profit up 4.1%

Cementos Pacasmayo saw its net income increase by 4.1 per cent to PEN48.8m (US$17.6m) in the third quarter compared to the same period of 2012.  Consolidated EBITDA rose by 17.6 per cent YoY to PEN90.2m. Pacasmayo kicks off construction of new plant, Peru

Cementos Pacasmayo has started construction of its new 1.6Mta plant in Piura to meet growing housing and infrastructure requirements in the north of the country. Cement shipments in the Peruvian market totalled 6.701Mt between January and August 2013, reflecting a 9.87 per cent increase YoY, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Peru's ASOCEM cement association reports that in July its members delivered 88,277t of cement in the domestic market. The January to July shipments are up YoY for the same period by 11 per cent rise, while a total of 16,349t of cement were also exported during July 2013.

Peruvian seven-month dispatches rise 10.8%

Cement deliveries in Peru increased by 10.8 per cent YoY to 5,785,150t between January and July 2013, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Output from Asocem-affiliated cement plants also saw an upward trend to 5,911,497t, representing a 10.9 per cent rise when compared with the same period the previous year. Exports in Jan-Jul reached 108,620t, up 42.8 per cent against the Jan-Jul 2012 figure of 76,058t.
