The Chzungtsai Mohir Cement cement plant has been officially opened by Emomali Rahmon, the President of Tajikistan, Asia Plus reports. The commissioning of the new 1Mta Huaxin Gayur-Sughd Cement plant took place on 23 March 2016 in northern Tajikistan. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the country’s President Emomali Rahmon. Huaxin Gayur Cement Co Ltd, located in Yovon district of Khatlon province, Tajikistan, reportedly signed an agreement with Afghanistan’s Shamal Sharq in early December to supply 500t of cement to Afghanistan. Chinese cement producer Shangfeng Cement Co Ltd announced Tuesday to raise no more than CNY1.5bn (US$235.78m) via private placement for overseas expansion. Over the first 10 months of this year Tajikistan produced more than 1Mt of cement, an increase of 776,000t compared to the same period of last year, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT).
