Figures released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers’ Association on Monday (Sept 04) showed growth of 26.2 per cent in exports during August over the July exports of 0.19 million tonnes. A.R. These figures assumed significance because this was perhaps the only year where prices sustained high levels even during the monsoon, reports CNBC-TV18. Carib Cement selling less31 August 2006, Published under Cement NewsSales volume at Caribbean Cement Company Limited since the start of the year has declined when compared to 2005. The company is reporting that year-to-date sales have amounted to 571,000t down from 583,000t for the corresponding period last year. In the meantime, the Ministry of Commerce says 24,000 tonnes of cement will be made available to the construction sector this week. 16,000t will be produced by Caribbean Cement while the remainder will be imported from Cuba. |
