Construction of new Eskisehir plant begins, Turkey

Kupeliler AS has started the construction of an integrated cement plant in the northwestern Turkish province of Eskisehir. The facility will have the capacity to produce 1.5Mta and 2Mta of clinker and cement, respectively, once operations begin in 2015, Dunya daily news reported. Cimsa Cimento has seen a big rise in its 1H13 profits on the back of increased investment and higher sales. Consolidated net profit grew to TRY218m (US$110m) from TRY49m a year earlier.
