Carbon Direct Capital Management has invested EUR15m for a 6.98 per cent equity stake in Calix subsidiary, the LEILAC Group, which is dedicated to the commercialisation and ongoing development of Calix’s LEILAC CO 2  capture technology. Holcim to upgrade Obourg

Holcim has applied for the renewal of its operating licence at the Obourg cement plant in Belgium. IKN achieves first clinker from CBR Antoing plant

IKN received as a special present the first clinker from the modified calciner and IKN cooler installed in Cimenteries CBR's Antoing plant in Belgium on Christmas Eve.   IKN said, "We thank everybody involved for their determination and efforts in this challenging project. In spite of coronavirus and a tough schedule there was no compromise on safety!" The Antoing clinker plant has a cement capacity of 0.9Mta and is one of five plants operated by SA Cimenteries CBR.

Titan Cement International SA announced the disposal of 7701 shares by its subsidiary Titan Cement Company SA of Titan Cement International SA. The shares were sold on 21 August 2020 at an exercise price of EUR10/share (EUR77,010 in total). Following the transaction, Titan Cement Company SA owns 5,226,748 shares in Titan Cement International, representing 6.34 per cent of the voting rights of Titan Cement International.

Masaveu doubles US exports in 2019

Masaveu has doubled its export shipments to the USA from its Tudela Veguín plant in Spain in 2019. The US is now the third-largest market for the cement producer, representing an export volume of 118,673t in 2019, compared to 50,061t in the previous year. François Petry was appointed by LafargeHolcim as the new director for France and Belgium, succeeding Bénédicte de Bonnechose. Mr Petry joined Holcim France in 2008, when he was appointed general manager of the company’s aggregates business. In 2013 he left to head Holcim Group’s subsidiary in Romania and this was followed by a position in the UK where he served as general manager of Aggregates Industries UK.
