Saudi Cement sales fall to 4.7Mt in November

The aggregate sales of 17 Saudi cement producers decreased by five per cent to 4.7Mt in November, compared to 4.9Mt in the same month last year, according to Yamama Cement Co. Argentine cement consumption expanded 4.6 per cent in November 2021 to 1,142,140t from 1,092,246t in November 2020, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. South Khorasan exports US$7.2m in 7MFY21-22

Iran’s South Khorasan province exported cement to a value of US$7.209m in the first seven months of the Iranian calendar year (March 2021-October 2022), according to Hamed Hassan-Nejad, deputy head of the province’s Industry, Mining and Trade Department. During this period 276,795t of cement was exported to Afghanistan and Iraq. South Khorasan province has two cement plants, which produced a total of 802,000t of cement in the 7MFY21-22.

Pakistan’s domestic dispatches grow, but exports declined in November 2021

According to the data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), local cement dispatches during November 2021 were 4.124Mt compared to 3.742Mt in November 2020, showing an increase of 10.2 per cent YoY. Medcem receives export award

Turkey-based Medcem has been awarded as both the company with the highest grey cement exports and the company with the highest increase in grey cement exports. The award was delivered at a gala night for Turkish Cement Exporters. Alongside this, Medcem is currently embarking on a US$230m project to expand its Mersin factory, raising clinker production capacity from 3.5Mta to 6.5Mta.

Sales of cement in Vietnam have increased five per cent in October to 5,239,069t, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) reported a 38 per cent fall in exports in terms of dollar value and a 44.2 per cent decrease in export volumes in the 4MFY21-22 when compared with the year-ago period. Domestic cement deliveries in Peru edged up two per cent to 1.264Mt in October 2021 when compared with October 2020, according to Peruvian cement association, Asocem.
