Pakistan cement industry observed a positive growth of 0.9 per cent and a contraction of -6.3 per cent in terms of quantity and value in dollars respectively between July and June 2018, according to  official government data. Peru’s cement market expanded by 5.7 per cent YoY to 0.865Mt in June 2018 and when compared with the previous month, largely stable, according to the latest data from Asocem, the country’s cement association. Brazil’s cement market contracted by 20.3 per cent YoY in May from 4.503Mt to 3.588Mt (excluding imports), according to the latest data published by SNIC, the country's cement association. Bangladesh cement revenue continues to surge

A growth of 17 per cent was recorded by Bangladesh's cement industry in export revenues during FY17-18 (July 2017-June 2018), says data released by Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). The country exported cement and other materials worth of US$12.59m during FY17-18, compared to US$10.79m earned in the year-ago corresponding months. India’s Birla White, a division of UltraTech Cement Ltd, has announced plans to increase exports over the coming years. Pakistan cement industry ended fiscal 2017-18 on a jubilant note, by posting yearly growth of 13.84 per cent with domestic consumption increasing by 15.42 per cent and exports inching up by 1.77 per cent. Argentina’s cement market contracted by 3.5 per cent to 970,978t in June 2018 from 1.007Mt in June 2017, according to the latest data from AFCP, the country’s cement association. The Pakistan cement industry is likely to wrap up FY18 on a positive note. Provisional data show that cement dispatches for June 2018 increased three per cent YoY to 2.81Mt, when compared with 2.73Mt in June 2017, according to a report of IGI Finex Securities Ltd. GICA plans its first export shipment to west Africa

Algeria’s GICA has signed a maritime contract of carriage with CNAN Nord, a subsidiary of state-run shipping group GATMA, for the company’s first shipment of 10,000t of cement to west Africa. GICA plans to export between 1-1.5Mt of its production in 2018, according to the Ministry of Industry and Mining.

Vietnam’s cement market expands 29% in June

Vietnamese cement producers have sold 8.71Mt in June, up 30 per cent YoY, said the Vietnam Building Material Association. Domestic demand reached 6.91Mt, representing a 29 per cent increase when compared with June 2017, including 2.18Mt sold by Vietnam Cement Industry Corp (Vicem).
