Belterra clay could replace limestone in cement production

In a study, funded partly by the Brazilian Ministry of Education, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU), Germany, and Brazil’s University of Pará, have found that CO2 emissions can be reduced during cement production by up to two-thirds by adding Belterra clay, unused overburden from bauxite mining. Holcim Croatia to invest HRK9.6m in low-carbon cement

Holcim Croatia will invest HRK9.6m (US$1.5m) in a project to develop low-carbon cement production. Around 35 per cent of this amount will be a HRK3.3m grant from Innovation Norway. Hoffman Green Cement launches construction second plant

Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies (HGCT) has started work on the construction of its second cement plant, which represents an investment of EUR22m. Located in Bournezeau in the Vendée region of France, the facility will have the capacity to produce 0.25Mta of low-carbon cement.
