Vietnam cancels five plant projects from Master Plan

Vietnamese Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung, has approved a proposal by the country’s Ministry of Construction to cancel five cement projects from the industry’s Master Plan 2011-2020. The five projects, which have a combined capacity of 0.91Mta, are Cao Duong, Cho Moi, Viet Duc, Long Tho and Ngan Son. The feasibility study for a new cement plant in Bhutan has been completed, marking the first such proposal to receive the go-ahead in the Zhemgang district. Moody's Investors Service says that West China Cement Ltd's (WCC) first-half results are in line with Moody's expectations. As a result, WCC's B1 corporate family and senior unsecured ratings remain unchanged.
