Bolivian cement firm Itacamba Cemento will continue to import cement from Brazil until the 2H16 when it expects to start up its new plant in Yacuses. The Bolivian producer it is currently importing large amounts of cement from Brazil with the aim of satisfying demand in Santa Cruz.
The company estimates that it will need to import some 5400tpm of cement equivalent to 107,000 bags before its new plant opens, although this figure could change depending on demand levels. Itacamba Cemento is investing USD220m (EUR202.44m) in its greenfield plant in Yacuses.
