KHD recently provided a six-day process training class to LafargeHolcim’s Volsk plant personnel at the Technological State University of Belgorod in Russia.

KHD explained in a statement that it has maintained a long cooperation with Belgorod University since the installation of six SIMULEX training units there almost 10 years ago. The training equipment is used for both student education and commercial process training for the Russian market, and is partly offered and executed by KHD’s Moscow office.

For the Volsk training class, the number of SIMULEX training units were increased from six to 12 and the SIMULEX software was updated to the most recent model, which supports wet, semi-wet and dry processes. The SIMULEX model for semi-wet process was developed specifically for the Volsk project to simulate the plant production conditions realistically. Besides providing the entire model for LafargeHolcim, the model will also be used for future training and service for other semi-wet cement manufacturers.
