Bolivia’s Cementos Itacamba is preparing a second cement and clinker shipment for export at the end of this month following the success of the first export delivery to Argentina and Paraguay. Argentina’s cement market expands 23% in October 2017

In October Argentina cement producers delivered 1,150,386t of cement, including exports, according to the Argentine cement producers association, AFCP. This represents a two per cent rise MoM and 23.2 per cent YoY. Of this total, domestic deliveries stood at 1,141,190t, up 23.3 per cent YoY, while exports increased 14.5 per cent YoY to 9196t. Argentina’s cement producers delivered 1,121,311t of cement in September 2017, up 12.6 per cent YoY and 0.8 per cent MoM, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. Domestic supply was complemented by 10,122t of imports, more than doubling the 4900t imported in September 2016 and seeing a 10.1 per cent MoM increase. Argentina's Loma Negra the announced terms for its IPO on Thursday. The company is planning a global offering and intends to list ADSs on the NYSE and ordinary shares on the Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos (BYMA) under the symbol LOMA. Cementos Avellaneda will increase its production capacity at its La Calera (San Luis) cement plant by 0.7Mta from 0.3Mta to 1Mta with an investment of US$200m by 2019. Cement consumption in Argentina increased 7.4 per cent to 1.122Mt in August 2017 from 1.044Mt in August 2016, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. The organisation also noted a 10.3 per cent rise MoM from 1.017Mt in July 2017. Loma Negra to double-list

Argentina’s Loma Negra has followed up its initial public offering (IPO) in New York with an offering on the domestic stock exchange, according to Brazil’s Valor newspaper. Analysts forecast the domestic float, expected as early as this month, could bring more than US$100m to the company’s coffers. The cement producer will use the funds to expand its Amali works, a project which requires an investment of US$350m, as well as reducing debt.
