The Domicem cement plant (Colacem group) has received the award of excellence in the Energy Rinnovabili category, for the project "Improvement in solar park control systems", in the 202 the National Award for Clean Productions, awarded by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in collaboration with other institutions of the Dominican Republic. Sinoma CBMI Construction wins order for new Domicem production line

Sinoma CBMI Construction will construct a new production line for Domicem (Colacem group) in the Dominican Republic. Colacem announced, in March 2021, that it would invest US$120m in its subsidiary Domicem for the construction of a new kiln line at Sabana Grande de Palenque. The project will double the existing cement capacity at the site to approximately 3.8Mta.

Canada: Colacem is still battling to win approval for its 1.16Mta plant

Colacem Canada is uncertain about its prospects to build a cement plant in L'Orginal in eastern Ontario, Canada. The company needs  permission from both tiers of local government, but it is in dispute with the Champlain Township's decision to vote against the project, and the cement company may have to take its proposal to the Ontario Municipal Board to win approval. Paraguay set for increased competition

Competition in the Paraguayan cement market is expected to intensify following the announcement by Italy’s Colacem that it will invest US$220m in new production facilities in Concepción. Environmental impact studies are expected to start very shortly with construction of the 1.5Mta plant scheduled to begin in 1H17. The new plant will help to drive domestic cement prices down as well as increase supply to sufficient levels to enable cement exports from the Latin American country.
