Spain's cement market expanded by 4.2 per cent YoY in February 2017 when sales reached 910,252t, according to Oficemen, the Spanish cement association. Peru's cement market contracted 6.9 per cent YoY with sales of 0.737Mt in February, according to Asocem, the country's cement producers' association. Output from Unacem, Cementos Pacasmayo and Cementos Yura reached 0.766Mt, 6.9 per cent below the 0.822Mt produced in February 2016. Vietnam exported 2.95Mt of cement and clinker in the first two months of 2017, representing an increase of 18.7 per cent YoY. The total value of the shipments reached US$103.69m, up 13.2 per cent YoY, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs. Total cement sales in Pakistan in February 2017 were 3.435Mt, down by 0.41 per cent from 3.449Mt during the corresponding month of last year, according to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Argentina's cement producers dispatched 801,782t of cement in February, a 0.8 per cent drop MoM and 8.7 per cent YoY, according to the Argentine cement producers' association, AFCP. Domestic sales decreased 0.8 per cent YoY to 801,782t in February 2017 from 808,310t in February 2016. Exports increased 9.3 per cent YoY to 6652t from 6084t. Pakistan cement exporters earned revenues of US$22.26m on exports of 411,257t cement in January 2017, compared to US$16.36m on 309,868t of exports in the previous month. These figures represent a MoM surge in dollar value and volumes of 36.05 per cent and 32.72 per cent, respectively.
