Cement demand in Peru increased by 1.4 per cent YoY in February 2018 to 0.824Mt from 0.812Mt, according to the latest data by Asocem, the country’s cement association. PPC Zimbabwe says it will leverage on an enhanced export incentive which the cement producer has been granted by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) to break even and resume exports despite high production costs, according to The Zimbabwe Independent. Bangladesh's cement industry earned export revenues of US$8.8m during the first eight months of FY17-18 (July 2017-February 2018), compared to US$5.93m earned in the year-ago corresponding months, reports the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). In February 2018 Vietnam exported 2.6Mt of cement, representing a hike of 30 per cent YoY, according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction. Domestic cement consumption rose 11 per cent YoY to 5Mt. For the first two months of 2018, nearly 18.6Mt of cement were sold, including 5.5Mt exported, representing a rise of 121 per cent when compared with January-February 2017.
