Iran increases output by 3% in first five months

Iran’s cement output in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (beginning 21 March 2013) increased by five per cent compared to the same period of the previous year. Iranian exports surpass 5Mt mark

Iran cement and clinker exports for the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year crossed the 5Mt mark. Exports for the period stood at 5.075Mt, which represented a 50 per cent increase compared to the same period of last year. Cement exports represented 4.21Mt of the total. Iran currently exports cement to 24 countries with around 97 per cent of total cement export destined for seven countries. Iran plans to export 18.5Mt of cement in the current Iranian calendar year, which began on 21 March, Mehdi Ghazanfari, the Iranian deputy industry, mines and trade minister, said. Iranian cement output down in first month of year, exports rise

The Iranian cement industry produced 4,940,597t of cement and 6,277,978t of clinker in the first month of the Iranian calendar, known as Farvardin (20 March - 20 April 2013), according to local sources. Cementitious exports from Iran have risen by 35 per cent in value terms during the first 11 months of the current Iranian calendar (beginning 20 March 2012), to reach a total of US$822m.
