Iran production rises in first four months of Iranian year

Iran produced 24.44Mt of cement in the first four months of the current Iranian year (20 March - 21 July 2012), IRNA reported. According to a report by the Industries, Mines and Trade Ministry, about 6.43Mt of cement was produced during the 20 June - 21 July. Iran exported 3.34Mt of cement and clinker in the first three months of the current calendar year which began on March 20, the IRNA News Agency has reported. Some 2.89Mt of cement and 449,400t of clinker were exported during the period. A total of 700 workers from Sepahan Cement Company have entered their third day of strike action in protest against unfavourable legal and working conditions, according to local press reports. Iran output rises eight per cent

Iran registered an eight per cent YoY rise in cement production last year, which ended on 19 March with volumes reaching 66.4Mt, IRNA news agency reported.  Some 67.6Mt of clinker was producer, up 12 per cent YoY. Iran exported over 9.3Mt of cement in the first 11 months of the year (ends 19 March 2012), representing a 17 per cent YoY rise, IRNA news agency reported. Iran to launch Venezuelan cement factory in March

Iranian-built cement factory in Venezuela "Cerro Azul" is to be launched in March 2012, according to local press reports. Iranian Ehdas Sanat Company signed a contract with Venezuelan government in 2005 for building the cement firm in the country costing US$198m.
