Pakistan’s Lucky Cement has signed a contract with Wärtsilä for the supply of a combined cycle power plant with additional engine generating sets for its plant in Pezu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Taiwan Cement Corp has reported an 8.2 per cent decline in October 2020 revenue to TWD10.29bn (US$360.7m) from TWD11.21bn in the same month of last year. Lucky Cement Ltd of Pakistan has set a target date of 20 December 2020 for the start-up of its 1.2Mta greenfield clinker unit, in Samawah, Iraq. Lucky Cement posts 23% rise in August revenue

Taiwan’s Lucky Cement has announced a 22.9 per cent YoY rise in August revenue to TWD366.8m (US$12.5m) from TWD298.5m in the same month of 2019. In the first eight months of 2020, the company posted a 26.9 per cent YoY advance in revenue to TWD2.98bn from TWD2.3bn.

Taiwan’s Lucky Cement has seen its revenue climb 22.6 per cent YoY to TWD384m (US$13.05m) in July 2020, against TWD313.2m last year. In the January-July period, revenue advanced 27.4 per cent YoY to TWD2.61bn from TWD2.05bn.

Taiwan Cement Corp has reported a 5.7 per cent YoY fall in revenue to TWD10.29bn (US$347.6m) for May 2020, compared with TWD10.9bn in the same month last year. Lucky Cement Ltd informed Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that it has made a top management change. As per a bourse filling, Masood Karim Shaikh has been appointed as an independent director on the Board of Directors of Lucky Cement Ltd with effect from 31 March 2020 to fill in the vacancy created due to the resignation of Mohamamd Javed Iqbal, for the remaining term of the board.   Muhammad Yunus Tabba is currently Lucky Cement's chairman while Mohammad Ali Tabba is CEO.

Taiwanese cement producers see revenue decline in January

Taiwan’s cement manufacturers have recorded a challenging start to the year, with Taiwan Cement Corp noting a 20.1 per cent decline in January revenue to TWD7.50bn (US$249.3m) from TWD9.39bn in the year-ago period. Elsewhere, Asia Cement Corp recorded a 34.1 per cent YoY decrease in revenue to TWD5.21bn for the first month of 2020. Lucky Cement saw a 16.1 per cent YoY fall in revenue to TWD296.4m from TWD353.19m in January 2019.
