Pakistan reached its highest-ever capacity utlisation at 93.7 per cent during the 9MFY18 period, ended March 2018. In total, cement dispatches rose 14.7 per cent YoY to 34.75Mt, according to figures supplied by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Cement production in Pakistan rises 12% in 7MFY18

Cement production in Pakistan recorded 12.1 per cent growth YoY during the first seven months of the current financial year. The country produced 23.77Mt of cement throughout July 2017-January 2018, compared to 21.2Mt of the year-ago period.  In January 2018 alone, production increased 23.5 per cent YoY to 3.64Mt (2017: 2.95Mt), according to the Business Recorder.

Pakistan cement and construction industry have received a foreign direct investment (FDI) of US$516.07m during first eight months of FY17-18 (July 2017-February 2018), compared to US$190m received in corresponding months of last fiscal year. Pakistan exports revenue of cement during the first eight months of FY17-18, recorded a YoY fall of 13.4 per cent and 16.9 per cent in quantity and value in dollars, respectively, says data released by Federal Bureau of Statistics, Government of Pakistan. Thatta Cement Co Ltd's profit after tax fell from PKR389.8m (US$3.5m) to PKR183.9m (US$1.6m) during 6MFY17-18.
