Cemex USA has purchased a limestone quarry in Chico, 45 miles northwest of Fort Worth in Texas, from Blue Star Materials II. Cemex will use the reserves which are expected to last another 25 years to supply aggregates for roads, bridges, commercial buildings, housing and other building projects in the state of Texas. Cemex has filed an appeal for reversal of the Government resolution regarding the cement producer’s exploitation of the Can Negret quarry in Alaró, Spain. Breedon Northern Ltd, a subsidiary of Breedon Group plc, has completed the acquisition of Blinkbonny Quarry (Borders) Ltd for an undisclosed sum. Vigier cement work's quarry, near the Swiss town of Bienne revealed the largest electrical vehicle in the world on Friday 20 April. The E-Dumper named 'Lynx' weighs 58t empty, with tyres measuring 2m  in diameter and nine steps up to the drivers' cabin. It was built from a diesel-powered dump truck.
