SibCem unit sees full-year output ahead, Russia

Output at Krasnoyarsk Cement, part of Siberian Cement (SibCem), is expected to have edged ahead by 1.32 per cent YoY to 922,000t in 2014 versus the 910,000t produced a year earlier. Krasnoyarsk Cement has been undertaking a modernisation programme to increase capacity and enhance environmental performance. At the heart of the project is the launch of a new dry-process line to double capacity at the factory. 

Wärtsilä to supply 11 power plants to Eurocement

Wärtsilä has been contracted to supply power plants for 11 cement factories of Eurocement Group in Russia. The project is part of a modernisation program of the factories which focuses on energy efficiency and environmental upgrading. LSR to sell Slantsy cement plant to Eurocement

LSR Group is selling its Slantsy plant in the Leningrad region of Russia to the country’s leading cement producer, Eurocement Group. Atrus halts Russian plant construction

Austrian company Atrus Cement Holding AG has halted the construction of a cement plant in Krasnodar territory indefinitely, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax. Buzzi Unicem finalises Uralcement acquisition

Buzzi Unicem, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Dyckerhoff GmbH, has completed the acquisition of a 100 per cent interest in Uralcement, Russia, from Lafarge. Uralcement is located near the town of Korkino, about 40km south of Chelyabinks. The wet-process plant has a capacity of 1.1Mta. The acquisition lifts Buzzi Unicem's production capacity in Russia to approximately 4.5Mta.

Russia: BaselCement’s Pikalyovo plant to modernise

Leningrad region's BaselCement Pikalyovo plans to raise RUB8bn (EUR138.81m/US$173.16m) in loans to pay for modernisation. The funds will be spent to upgrade production to switch to a new cement-making process and reduce the cost of natural gas. Its railway transportation to the enterprise will be subsidised by the state. The approved amount of the subsidies totals RUB290bn in 2014.

Russia's Sibirskiy Cement produced nearly 3.9Mt of cement in the first 10 months of 2014, the company reported. Sibirsky Cement anticipates 2015 sales decline

Russian concrete producer Sibirsky Cement expects its sales to decrease by per cent YoY in 2015, First Vice President Gennady Rasskazov told reporters. “We are making budget plans for next year, but I think that it (sales) will stand at 4-4.1Mt,” Rasskazov said. In 2014, sales are expected to remain flat from the previous year and stand at around 4.3Mt, he said.

Eurocement and Sinoma sign modernisation contracts

Eurocement Group and Sinoma International Engineering Co  have signed an agreement for the modernisation of three plants at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Beijing. The contracts cover the construction of dry-process cement lines at the Kavkazcement, Belgorodsky Cement and Oskolcement plants in Russia.
