Thailand-based Siam Cement Group (SCG) has developed a new low-carbon cement that has lowered emissions by 15-20 per cent. The Siam Cement Public Co Ltd (SCG) reported a 14 per cent drop in sales revenue to THB122,190m (US$3510.1m) in the 4Q22 when compare with the 4Q21. The Borneo-based Sarawak Economic Development Corp (SEDC) and the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) are planning to create a joint venture to import cement from Thailand to address the supply shortage in the state of Sarawak. Thailand-based Siam Cement Group has seen revenue from its cement and building products business reach THB46,185m in the 1Q21, an increase of 15 per cent compared to the previous quarter. Thailand’s Siam Cement has reported a nine per cent decline in revenue from sales to THB399.94bn (US$13.3bn) for 2020, compared to THB437.98bn in the previous year.
