Thailand-based Siam Cement Group (SCG) has reported sales of THB142,391m (US$3774m) in the third quarter of 2022, up eight per cent from THB131,825m in the same period a year earlier. TPI Polene posted a 21 per cent YoY growth in sales in the 2Q22 to THB12.5bn (US$346.2m) and 24 per cent growth in revenues to THB13.6bn, partly thanks to forex gains. Domestic sales of Portland cement in Thailand increased 10.9 per cent MoM to 2Mt in May 2022 but when compared with May 2021, sales were down 16 per cent, according the Office of Industrial Economics. Siam Cement plant catches on fire

PT Siam Cement Group ( SCG) factory on Jalan Palabuhan II, Sukabumi Regency, Thailand, has caught fire. The cause of the fire is not yet known. A number of vehicles and firefighters entered the factory area to extinguish the fire. There were no casualties in the incident. The President Director of PT Semen Jawa and PT Tambang Semen Sukabumi, Somchai Dumrongsil, confirmed the fire outbreak.

Thailand’s Siam Cement PCL has seen its net profit decline 30 per cent YoY in the third quarter of 2021, falling to THB6.82bn (US$205m), as it recorded lower demand and an asset impairment related to a plant in Myanmar. However, revenue from sales advanced 31 per cent YoY to THB31.83bn in the 3Q21, supported by its chemical business.
