Siam Cement records 83% increase in net profit

Thailand’s Siam Cement has seen an 83 per cent increase in net profit to THB17.14bn (US$512.4m) in the second quarter of 2021, supported by its chemical and packaging businesses. Revenue also advanced 39 per cent YoY to THB133.56bn. The company has also announced a capex target of THB80-90bn for this year.

Thailand-based Siam Cement Group has seen revenue from its cement and building products business reach THB46,185m in the 1Q21, an increase of 15 per cent compared to the previous quarter. Thailand’s Siam Cement has reported a nine per cent decline in revenue from sales to THB399.94bn (US$13.3bn) for 2020, compared to THB437.98bn in the previous year. Thailand’s Siam Cement Group has reported a 39 per cent YoY decline in revenue to PHP5.34bn (US$109.7m) from its Philippine operations for the first half of the year, on the back of a weak performance in its building materials business, reports The Philippine Star. SCG sees dip in Vietnam's revenue from sales

Thailand’s Siam Cement Group (SCG) has seen its revenue from sales in Vietnam drop five per cent YoY to VND13.1trn (US$564.6m) in the first half of 2020, according to Vietnam News. The figure accounted for 8.8 per cent of SCG’s total revenue during the six-month period. In the 2Q20, its revenue from sales in the country reached VND7trn, equivalent to 40 per cent of the total revenue from ASEAN markets, excluding Thailand, compared to 30 per cent in 2019.
