The export of cement from Turkey to Germany increased 4.2 per cent from January-July 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, exceeding US$140.4m, reported the Turkish Ministry of Trade. Vicat has announced 1H20 results with consolidated sales of EUR1.304bn, down 2.7 per cent from EUR1.340bn in 1H19. China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has fined Taiwan Cement and Ordu Yardimlasma Kurumo (Oyak) for failure to notify the establishment of their joint venture, Dutch Oyak TCC Holdings BV, in 2018. In June 2020 the export of Turkish cement to France increased by 65.6 per cent YoY, representing a value of US$12.9m, according to the Turkish Ministry of Trade. In the January-May 2020 cement and clinker exports from Turkey surged 37 per cent to 9.8Mt, according to the Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB). Turkey’s Bolu Cimento Sanayii has considerably reduced its non-consolidated net loss to TRY11.04m (US$1.58m) in the first quarter of 2020, compared with a TRY21.19m loss in the 1Q20.
