Lafarge Africa Plc announces 1H21 group revenues of NGN145m

Lafarge Africa PLC (Holcim group) announced 1H21 group revenue of NGN145m (US$351.9m) with gross profits of NGN48m. In the 2Q21, group revenue reached NGN73.5m and gross profits amounted to NGN28.9m. Group cement sales totalled NGN71.5m in the 2Q21 and NGN141.4m in the 1H21. Meanwhile, Aggregates and concrete sales amounted to NGN2m in the 2Q21 and NGN145m in the 1H21. Lafarge Africa Plc has a cement production capacity of 10.5Mta in Nigeria.

Ghacem plans construction of new 1.5Mta plant

Ghacem is preparing to begin construction for a new 1.5Mta plant in Kumasi, Ashanti region, which will serve the region and its surrounding areas. Nigeria’s Dangote Cement has posted a 44.8 per cent YoY rise in group revenue to NGN690.55bn (US$1.676bn) in the first half of 2021, compared to NGN476.85bn in the year-ago period. Group EBITDA also climbed 61 per cent to NGN351.06bn from NGN218.07bn in the 1H20, while the EBITDA margin increased to 50.8 per cent from 45.7 per cent. At Lafarge Africa Plc (Holcim group) has reaffirmed its commitment towards affordable and clean energy, through the launch of a new set of 52 LNG-fuelled trucks. Senegal demand surges but exports fall in April

The Senegalese cement market expanded by 158.7 per cent in April 2021, according to the Agence Nationale de la Statistique et de la Demographie. However, domestic output declined by 9.9 per cent while export sales slipped by 3.5 per cent YoY in April 2021.

Nigeria to build new 5Mta cement plant in Gombe State

Dangote's Edo plant is ready to start production

Dangote Cement's US$1bn plant in Edo, Nigeria, is completed and set for commissioning. The plant has a cement production capacity of 6Mta and is built on a 100ha plot. Dangote acquires 20,000 vehicles to improve distribution

Nigeria’s Dangote Cement has acquired 20,000 additional vehicles to improve the distribution of its products across the country.
