Production resumes at Sindri plant following protest

Production at ACC’s cement factory in Sindri, India, resumed on Tuesday with a police presence, a day after a clash between protesting villagers and police. The protestors had blocked the entrance of the factory and were demanding jobs for the locals in the factory, according to The Times of India. ACC sees EBITDA rise 21% in the 3Q20

India’s ACC Ltd has reported a 19.8 per cent YoY increase in consolidated profit after tax to INR3.64bn (US$49.59m) for the 3Q20, against INR3.03bn during the same period last year. India’s ACC (LafargeHolcim) has reported a 40 per cent YoY decline in consolidated net profit to INR2.71bn (US$36.2m) in the first quarter of FY20-21, compared to INR4.55bn in the year-ago period. India’s ACC (LafargeHolcim) has seen its consolidated net profit fall 6.6 per cent YoY to INR3.23bn (US$42.13m) in the first quarter of 2020.
