German cement demand reaches 26.6Mt in 2015

German cement consumption reached approximately 26.6Mt in 2015, some 2.2 per cent less than the previous year, according to German Cement Works Association (VDZ). US January shipments - preliminary data

Preliminary data from the US Geological Survey shows that Portland and blended cement shipments in January 2016 amounted to 5.3Mt, including 540,000t of imports. This represents a fall of 1.6 per cent on January 2015 but is well above the five-year average of 4.6Mta for January shipments in the period 2011-15. Peru’s cement demand edges down in January

Cement consumption in Peru slipped by 0.4 per cent YoY from 816,000t in January 2015 to 813,000t in January 2016, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. In addition, clinker exports reached 28,000t, down 69 per cent, while cement exports fell by 29 per cent to 29,000t during the first month of 2016. US November shipments - preliminary data

Preliminary data from the US Geological Survey shows that Portland and blended cement shipments in November 2015 reached 7.3Mt including 767,000t of imports. Shipments for the year to the end of November totalled 84.93Mt, the provisional data shows. Of the total, imports represented 8.93Mt. Clinker production in November was 6.76Mt and for the first 11 months of 2015 reached 69.62Mt, according to the preliminary figures.
