Turkey's leading cement group, OYAK Holding is merging five cement companies traded on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. OYAK Group is an industrial and financial conglomerate owned by the Turkish military's pension fund. Turkish cement producers see exports surge 46% in 1H19

Cement exports from Turkey in the first half of 2019 have increased by 46 per cent YoY to US$444m, according to the Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB). Turkish cement sales in the local market declined 41 per cent YoY in the January-April 2019 period due to a weak housing market, the overall slowdown in the country’s economy and unfavourable weather conditions, according to Nihat Ozdemir, head of the Turkish Cement Manufacturers' Association (TCMB). Baticim, part of the Turkey-based Bati Anadolu Group, is looking to sell a stake of up to 75 per cent in Batisoke, according to a Reuters report citing a source close to the process.
