Titan Group reported a drop in consolidated revenue by 2.1 per cent to EUR641.8m in the January-May 2020 period, following a 6.1 per cent growth in the 1Q20 and a subsequent slowdown in April and May during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic. Cement consumption in Spain has fallen 17.8 per cent YoY to 1.144Mt in May as construction works halted in April due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Oficemen, the country’s cement association. Carthage Cement begins exporting cement to Italy

Tunisia’s Carthage Cement launched its first export shipment of 4100t of EC-certified Portland cement to Italy last Friday. The dispatch is reportedly part of a larger contract to supply 250,000t of cement and clinker to Europe. "Our company has got a certification of the products in compliance with the requirements of the European standards, which has helped us be the first to enter the European market and we intend to remain there," indicated Brahim Sanaa, CEO, Carthage Cement.

Aker Solutions and HeidelbergCement-owned Norcem have signed an agreement towards the engineering, procurement and construction of a CO 2 capture, liquification and intermediate storage plant at Norcem’s cement plant in Brevik, Norway.
