Shipments of Portland and blended cement in the US and Puerto Rico over the first half of 2015 totalled around 40.78Mt, preliminary data from the US Geological Survey shows. Of the total, imports accounted for 4.07Mt.

In June alone, shipments reached 8.935Mt, including 930,581t of imports.

Meanwhile, clinker production over the six month period totalled 35.3Mt, with output in June reported to be just over 7Mt.
