Weye Construction Materials Ltd (WCM) plans to establish cement and quarry in Chilanga district, Zambia, at a cost of US$45m.
The new plant will have a cement capacity of 1Mta, while teh limestone quarry is expected to have a lifespan of more than 20 years, according to an environmental impact assessment (EIA) report submitted to Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) by WCM.
WCM is ready to implement the proposed project as soon as all the approval requirements are met with ZEMA and other regulatory agencies.
