Shanshui Cement to work with Conch Venture on waste utilisation projects

Following its acquisition of Binani Cement, UltraTech Cement is now looking to sell the 3Mta integrated cement plant in China and 2.5Mta grinding plant in UAE it inherited as part of the deal. China’s Huaxin Cement Co Ltd has started construction on the 1.2Mta cement plant in Zafarabad district, Jizzakh region in Uzbekistan. Shanshui Cement reduces loss to CNY210.89m

Shanshui Cement has narrowed its loss to CNY-210.89m (US$-31.3m) for the 1Q19, according to a company statement. In the 1Q18 the company loss reached CNY-471.22m. Shanshui’s operating revenue increased by 41.5 per cent YoY to CNY2.58bn in the first quarter while its gross profit was CNY682.03m, up 43.3 per cent YoY.

China's cement production level to hold steady through to 2020

China's cement output has fallen from a peak in 2014 but will hold steady through 2020, according to a report from global ratings agency Moody’s. The lower production volume reflects the closer of inefficient capacity and winter production, where the government reportedly seeks to reduce emissions. Anhui Conch 1Q net profit sees 27% hike

Chinese cement major Anhui Conch Cement Co posted a 27.3 per cent YoY increase in net profits in the first quarter of 2019 following strong growth last year. Conch Cement said in a filing to the Shanghai Stock Excchange it earned a net profit of CNY6.08bn (US$903.5m) in the first three months of the year. Revenues surged 62.5 per cent to CNY30.5bn.

Anhui Conch’s impressive 88 per cent YoY leap in profits last year is being attributed to China’s crackdown on polluting industries, including steel, coal and cement.
