Pakistan cement dispatches grow strongly in 5MFY19-20

All Pakistan Cement Manufacturer Association (APCMA) has released dispatch data for November and for the five months of July-November 2019. According to APCMA, Pakistani cement dispatches in July-November 2019 increased 2.9 per cent YoY to 16.854Mt, while exports were up 21.5 per cent YoY to 3.608Mt. Chilean deliveries down 1% in September, up 5% in 9M19

Chilean cement dispatches declined 1.4 per cent YoY to 311,328t in September 2019 when compared with a volume of 307,015t delivered in September 2018, according to the Chilean Construction Chamber (CChC). When compared with August 2019, dispatches were down 15.7 per cent. In the first nine months of 2019, total dispatches increased 5.1 per cent from 3.948Mt in the 9M18 to 4.15Mt in the 9M19.

Cement dispatches in Morocco increased by 9.4 per cent YoY to 1.14Mt in September, up from 1.04Mt in September 2018, according to the country’s cement association, APC. Cement dispatches in Chile increased 7.3 per cent YoY to 369,337t in August 2019 when compared with August 2018, when they reached 344,084t, according to the Camara Chilena de Construcción (CChC), the country’s construction chamber. In the first eight months of 2019, dispatches advanced by 5.9 per cent to 2.752Mt from 2.599Mt in the 8M18.

Pakistan's cement industry saw receding cement demand in the first two months of current FY20 in Pakistan. The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) attributes it to impact of economic contraction among other factors. The industry dispatched 46.88Mt of cement in 2018-19, leaving a surplus of 9.12Mt. Cement dispatches in Chile increased by 11.3 per cent to 317,626t in July 2019 from 285,357t in July 2018, according to the Chilean construction chamber (CChC). MoM an 8.8 per cent rise was achieved, from 291,979t in June 2019. In the first seven months of 2019, total dispatches reached 2,382,831t, up 5.7 per cent when compared with January-June 2018 when deliveries were 2,254,729t.

Argentina records 6% fall in dispatches for August

Argentina has recorded a 5.8 per cent YoY decrease in cement dispatches to 1.052Mt for August 2019, compared with 1.117Mt in the year-ago period. Domestic dispatches fell to 1.047Mt from 1.113Mt, while exports declined to 4230t from 4611t in August 2018. The country’s demand was met by domestic production and as such, no imports were recorded for the month.
