Pakistan’s domestic cement dispatches increased by 4.19 per cent in July 2015 to 1.8Mt. Exports, however, declined by 7.45 per cent to 465,000t. Total cement dispatches during the first month of the current fiscal year reached 2.26Mt, a slight increase of 1.56 per cent YoY. Pakistan cement sales fell by 33 per cent in the first month of FY15-16 to 2.19Mt, preliminary data from AHL Research shows. During July 2015, domestic demand dropped by 36 per cent MoM to 1.74Mt while exports were down by 17 per cent to 499,000t, data from the report published in the Tribune (Pakistan), revealed. Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading state-owned cement producer, said its cement and clinker sales slipped 0.5 per cent to 10.73Mt in the first half of 2015. Indian cement major ACC Ltd reported a 45.1 per cent drop in consolidated net profit for the second quarter of the calendar year to INR133.5 crore on the back of challenging market conditions and subdued demand. Consolidated total income of the company fell by 2.1 per cent to INR3,037.1 crore in April-June 2015 quarter from INR3103.2 crore in the same quarter of 2014 fiscal, it added. Ecuador cement sales reached 2.88Mt in the first six months of this year, the Institute of Cement and Concrete (INECYC) has reported. In June 2015, dispatches reached 488,777t – an increase of 2.45 per cent compared to 477,111t in the month before, the data reveals.

India-based Shiva Cement's dispatches of cement and clinker during the first quarter of FY15-16 rose by 16 per cent YoY, the company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange. Cement production in Poland increased by 4.1 per cent YoY to 1.55Mt in June, while sales were up by 7.2 per cent to 1.59Mt, Poland's Cement Producer Association said in a statement. Year-to-date production rose by 2.1 per cent YoY to 7.19Mt. Year-to-date sales were up by 2.5 per cent to 7.33Mt.

Pakistan cement sales increased by 3.5 per cent in FY14-15 as strong domestic construction and housing activity boosted dispatches, according to Topline Securities. Vietnam’s cement sales rose six per cent YoY to 34.16Mt in the first half of this year, meeting 47.4 per cent of the year’s plan, the Vietnam Building Material Association under the Ministry of Construction said. US: preliminary April 2015 shipments

Portland and blended cement shipments in the US and Puerto Rico in April 2015 amounted to 7.669Mt, preliminary data from the USGS shows. Imports accounted for 776,781t of total dispatches during the month. For the first four months of this year, shipments reached 24.09Mt, of which 2.321Mt were imports.
