Cement exports from Pakistan increased 1.9 per cent during first five months (July-November) of the current fiscal year, compared to the corresponding period of last year. Ecuador cement sales registered a double-digit monthly decline during November 2014, latest data from Ecuador cement association Inecyc shows.  Sales during November were down by 11.7 per cent to 532,009t compared to 602,748t in the previous month. Total sales for the January-November 2014 period reached 5.913Mt.

Vietnam cement sales on track to exceed full year target

Vietnam’s total cement sales are estimated to hit 70Mt in 2014, surpassing the full-year target by 6Mt, the Ministry of Construction said. Portland and blended cement shipments in the US and Puerto Rico reached 75.8Mt in the first 10 months of the year, preliminary figures from the US Geological Survey show. Saudi Arabia's cement sales rose 39 per cent YoY to 5.09Mt in November 2014 from 3.65Mt in November 2013, according to statistics published by Saudi cement producer Yamama Cement Co. Of the total, domestic sales accounted for 5.03Mt, up 40 per cent YoY. Exports stood at 60,000t, up from 50,000t. State-owned Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) said it sold 1.92Mt of cement and clinker last month, an increase of 3.5 per cent from a year ago. Pakistan’s cement dispatches rose by 11 per cent YoY in November 2014 to 3Mt largely thanks to higher domestic demand and exports from the northern region. Cement sales in Vietnam jumped 16 per cent YoY to 64.46Mt in the first 11 months of this year, fulfilling the whole-year target, according to the government’s data.
