Vietnamese cement dispatches fall in May

Domestic cement dispatches in Vietnam fell six per cent YoY and seven per cent MoM to 5.929Mt in May 2019, according to the Vietnam Cement Association (VNCA). Of this total, 2.014Mt were delivered by VICEM and 1.625Mt by its associated companies, representing YoY decreases of seven and 10 per cent, respectively and MoM declines of three and nine per cent, respectively. Chile’s cement dispatches increase 11% in April

Cement dispatches in Chile were up 11.2 per cent to 348,151t in April 2019 when compared to 313,131t delivered in April 2018, according to the latest data published by the Chilean Construction Chamber (CChC). In the January-April 2019 period, 1.428Mt of cement were dispatched by the country’s cement plants, representing a YoY increase of 8.3 per cent. In January-April 2018 dispatches reached 1.318Mt.

Chilean dispatches up 20% YoY in March

Chilean cement producers dispatched 398,132t of cement in March 2019, up 20 per cent from 331,802t in February 2019, according to the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC). When compared with 360,803t in March 2019, the YoY increase was 10.3 per cent.  In the first quarter of 2019, dispatches reached 1,080,074t, representing a rise of 7.4 per cent YoY. In the 1Q18, deliveries stood at 1,005,324t.

Exports from southern Pakistan remain strong

Total cement sales in Pakistan declined by seven per cent YoY to 4.3Mt in March 2019 and six per cent YoY to 29.3Mt in 9MFY19. However, exports from the southern region continued to be strong. Paraguay-based Industria Nacional de Cemento (INC) closed 2018 with a delivery record of 12,964,917 bags of cement. In 2017 INC delivered 12,702,486t, up from the 12,659,924t it dispatched in 2016. NCL Industries reports 13% growth in output in 3QFY18-19

India-based NCL Industries has reported a 13 per cent YoY increase in cement production to 552,000t in the third quarter of FY18-19, up from 490,000t in the year-ago period. Cement deliveries advanced by 18 per cent to 555,000t in the 3QFY18-19 from 471,000t in the 3QFY17-18, according to Accord Fintech. In addition, the company’s cement boards production and dispatches increased by three and four per cent, respectively to 17,631t and 16,713t, respectively during the 3QFY18-19.

Pakistan exports rise in November

Pakistan's cement industry received foreign exchange revenue of US$26.77m by exporting 635,192t of cement during November 2018, compared to US$26.74m and 616,648t in the previous month. This shows minor MoM growth of 0.1 per cent and three per cent in terms of value and quantity, respectively, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics.
