Andhra Cements restarts clinker line at Durga

India-based Andhra Cements Ltd, part of Sagar Cements, has relaunched the clinker line at its 1Mta integrated Durga Cement Works in Dachepalli Mandal, Palnadu District, Andhra Pradesh. According to press reports, Sagar Cements plans to invest over US$50m at the plant to boost its cement and clinker production capacity to 3Mta and 2.3Mta, respectively.

After 24 hours of performance testing, another IKN cooler received its performance test certificate. The cooler, installed at Line 2 in UltraTech Cement 's Hirmi Cement plant, India, has not only achieved but exceeded all guaranteed parameters, says IKN.   In addition, the cooler which was designed for 8000tpd, proved to operate at the owners satisfaction at a capacity of 10,000tpd, even with hot air recirculation.

The India Cements Ltd has posted standalone total income of INR14,788.9m (US$178.7m) in the quarter ended 31 March 2023, compared to INR13,967.2m in the same period a year earlier.
