Semen Indonesia Group reported a 38.8 per cent YoY hike in sales volumes in September to 4,287,396t. Of this total Semen Indonesia saw its sales increase by 3.3 per cent YoY to 3,015,298t, which include a 39.4 per cent rise in export sales to 312,118t. Cement consumption in Indonesia remained largely stable at 6,728,921t in September 2019 when compared with September 2018, according to the latest data by the country’s cement association, ASI. Demand in the key market of Java remained level at 3,841,656t with higher sales on West Java (1,141,159t, up 9.6 per cent) and Yogyjakarta (119,297t, up nine per cent) offset falling deliveries in Jakarta, Banta and Central Java. After being acquired by PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SBI) has changed its Holcim cement brand to Dynamix. In August 2019 the Semen Indonesia group sold a total of 3,960,297t of cement and clinker. This compares to 3,820,717t in the previous month. Semen Indonesia contributed 2,788,895t to the August total, a contraction of 3.96 per cent YoY, mainly from domestic sales (2,465,795t) but also exports (323,101t). Cement deliveries in Indonesia slipped by 3.2 per cent YoY in August 2019 to 6,323,297t from 6,532,840t in August 2018, according to data by the Indonesian cement association, ASI, cited by Semen Indonesia Group. Semen Indonesia reported a four per cent fall to 2.789Mt in total sales in August 2019 when compared with the previous year, when the company achieved sales of 2.904Mt. PT Indocement saw its total sales volumes increase by 0.7 per cent YoY to 8.4Mt in the first half of 2019. Although domestic sales remained largely unchanged, export volumes jumped by 190 per cent YoY from 29,000t in the 1H18 to 84,000t in the same period this year. Siam Cement Group (SCG) is looking to roll out its Procure to Pay blockchain solution for payment and procurement methods to 2400 suppliers by 2020, according to the Bangkok Post. The Indonesian Cement Association has reported that domestic cement sales volumes in the 1H19 dropped 2.2 per cent YoY to 29.4Mt due to weaker demand from Java (-2.8 per cent YoY) and Sumatra (-6.3 per cent YoY).
