In April 2019 PT Semen Indonesia sold a total of 3,096,519t of cement and clinker. This compares to 3,161,372t in the previous month. Semen Indonesia contributed 2,144,359t to the April total, mainly from domestic sales (1,851,219t) but also exports (293,140t). This was slightly down on the 2,219,685t reported in March this year. HeidelbergCement has sold the 0.7Mta Spoleto cement works to Colacem and agreement has been reached to sell the Testi integrated cement works and two grinding centres to Buzzi Unicem, with completion envisaged by the end of July. The Indonesian subsidiary Indocement is looking for four per cent sales growth in 2019 to some IDR1.1bn, with most of the growth coming in the second half. This compares with a 5.3 per cent growth rate in 2018 when the net profit fell by 38.4 per cent.

Total cement deliveries by Indonesian cement producers advanced 2.6 per cent in the first two months of 2019 to 11.216Mt when compared with 10.93Mt in the 2M18, according to the latest data from the Indonesian Cement Association, ASI. Semen Indonesia Group and PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia (SBI) have posted sales of 3.095Mt in February 2019, a significant increase of 47 per cent YoY when compared with a sales volume of 2.106Mt noted in February 2018. PT Semen Indonesia increased revenues by 10.3 per cent YoY to IDR30.688trn in 2018 from IDR27,814trn in 2017. The company’s consolidated sales volume reached 33.153Mt, including the sales from Thang Long Cement in Vietnam.
