Gebr Pfeiffer receives multiple mill order for Grobogan cement plant

Gebr Pfeiffer has been awarded its first contract to supply MVR mills to Indonesia. The mills will be set up at Grobogan cement plant located close to Semarang in Central Java. The package includes two MVR 5000 C-4 mills for cement grinding and one MVR 5000 R-4 for raw material grinding and a MPS 3350 BK mill for grinding lignite. Indocement opens new Palembang terminal

Indocement has opened a new cement terminal in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The 0.5Mta terminal will improve the company’s distribution and logistics in the western part of the archipelago. PT Semen Indonesia has announced an almost 56 per cent YoY drop in net income for the full-year 2017 period, decreasing to IDR2.01trn (US$146m) from IDR4.52trn. According to a Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S poll, the results fell beneath the average estimate of IDR2.28trn expected for the year.

Cement consumption rises in Indonesia in February

Domestic cement consumption in Indonesia rose 5.2 per cent YoY to 4.79Mt in February 2018, supported by an increase in cement demand on the islands of Sumatra and Kalimantan, according to Indonesia Investments. Indonesia's cement consumption rose 9.9 per cent YoY to 5.68Mt in January 2018. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa expects to complete construction of its new cement terminal in Palembang in the first quarter of 2018, according to Indonesia Investments. Semen Indonesia has recorded a 10.2 per cent YoY increase in sales volumes to 15.34Mt in 2017, compared to 13.92Mt the previous year, according to data from the Indonesian Cement Association.
