Israel’s Environmental Protection Ministry has approved Nesher Cement’s revised emissions permit, which will see the company replace some of its raw materials with waste. Israel’s Minister of Economy, Amir Peretz, announced on Friday that he intended to raise the tariff on imported cement from 0.25 per cent to 17.25 per cent, according to The Times of Israel. The Israeli authorities have decided to allow the entry of cement in the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom (Karm Abu Salem) commercial crossing, according to the Palestinian Authority.
