Najran Cement sees 24% fall in profit

Saudi Arabia’s Najran Cement has posted a net profit of SAR36.1m (US$9.23m) in the third quarter of 2021, down 23.8 per cent YoY from SAR47.4m in the year-ago period. Sales also declined 20.8 per cent YoY to SAR125.9m from SAR159m in the 3Q20. 

City Cement sees 26% fall in profit

Saudi Arabia's City Cement has posted a 25.6 per cent YoY decline in net profit to SAR38m (US$10.13m) in the quarter ending 30 September 2021, compared with SAR51.1m in the year-ago period. Sales also fell 20.6 per cent to SAR111.6m from SAR140.6m in the 3Q20. 

Umm Al Qura Cement's revenue down 35% YoY

Saudi Arabia’s Umm Al Qura Cement Co has posted a net profit after tax of SAR12.47m (US$3.33m) in the quarter ending September 2021, down 60.9 per cent YoY against SAR31.91m in the year-ago period. Revenue also declined 35 per cent YoY to SAR56.96m from SAR87.61m in the 3Q20.

Iranian cement consumption up 34% MoM in September

The Iranian cement market expanded 34 per cent to 5.72Mt in September 2021 when compared with August 2021, when demand reached 4.27Mt, according to the Iranian cement association. Cement production in Iran reached 6.01Mt in September 2021, up 25.5 per cent MoM, while clinker production stood at 6.83Mt, representing a MoM increase of 34.4 per cent MoM. Yanbu Cement Co sees revenue up 10% in 9M21

Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu Cement Co has reported a 55.8 per cent YoY decline in net profit to SAR36.4m (US$9.71m) in the third quarter of 2021, compared to SAR82.48m in the year-ago period. Revenue also fell 13.5 per cent YoY to SAR207.78m from SAR240.36m in the 3Q20. During the first nine months of the year, the company recorded a 28.7 per cent decrease in profit to SAR149.69m from SAR210.12m in the 9M20. However, revenue was up 10 per cent YoY to SAR742.87m in the 9M21.

Yamama Cement Co sees 32% decline in sales

Saudi Arabia’s Yamama Cement Co has posted a 31.6 per cent YoY decline in sales to SAR170.7m (US$45.52m) in the quarter ending 30 September, compared to SAR249.65m in the year-ago period. Net profit was down 58.1 per cent YoY to SAR39.97m from SAR95.32m. In the first nine months of the year, sales fell 21.7 per cent YoY to SAR553.5m while net profit declined 36.1 per cent to SAR172.5m.

Oman Cement reports flat net profit in 9M21

Oman Cement has posted a net profit after tax of OMR2.8m (US$7.28m) in the first nine months of the year, which is flat compared to OMR2.8m seen in the year-ago period. Total revenue for January-September 2021 was down 9.3 per cent YoY to OMR35.3m from OMR38.9m in the 9M20.

The aggregate sales of 17 Saudi cement producers decreased by 11 per cent to 4.1Mt in September, from 4.6Mt in the same month last year, according to recent data issued by Yamama Cement Co. In terms of local sales, 12 companies witnessed a sales drop, led by Northern Region Cement Co with 45 per cent YoY.
