Saudi Cement sales fall to 4.7Mt in November

The aggregate sales of 17 Saudi cement producers decreased by five per cent to 4.7Mt in November, compared to 4.9Mt in the same month last year, according to Yamama Cement Co. Locally, 14 market players reported lower sales, led by Northern Region Cement Co with a 54 per cent YoY drop. South Khorasan exports US$7.2m in 7MFY21-22

Iran’s South Khorasan province exported cement to a value of US$7.209m in the first seven months of the Iranian calendar year (March 2021-October 2022), according to Hamed Hassan-Nejad, deputy head of the province’s Industry, Mining and Trade Department. During this period 276,795t of cement was exported to Afghanistan and Iraq. South Khorasan province has two cement plants, which produced a total of 802,000t of cement in the 7MFY21-22.

Iranian cement market contracts 12% in October

Iran’s cement demand declined 11.7 per cent MoM to 5.05Mt in October 2021. In addition, producers exported 0.65Mt of clinker and 0.29Mt of cement, according to the Iranian cement association. In term of output, 7.02Mt of clinker and 5.46Mt of cement were produced in October 2021. When compared with September 2021, clinker production increased 2.8 per cent while cement output was down 9.2 per cent.

Qassim Cement sees sales down 27% YoY

Saudi Arabia’s Qassim Cement has reported a net profit of SAR60.4m (US$16.11m) in the third quarter of 2021, down 49.7 per cent YoY from SAR110.1m. Sales also decreased 26.5 per cent to SAR170.3m from SAR231.6m in the 3Q20.

Tabuk Cement sees 11% decrease in profit

Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk Cement has posted a 10.5 per cent YoY fall in net profit to SAR8.48m (US$2.26m) in the third quarter of 2021, compared with SAR9.47m in the year-ago period. Sales also declined 32.9 per cent YoY to SAR48m from SAR71.49m in the 3Q20.
