Gulf Cement Company reported a 29.34 per cent drop in first-half profit drop to AED30.89m (US$48.4m), compared to AED43.7m (US$12m) in the same period of 2014. Oman Cement Co (OCC) net profit declined by just over 40 per cent in the first half of this year to OMR5.44m (US$14.1m) from OMR9.09m in 1H14, the company said in its filing of initial numbers with the Muscat Securities Market. CNBM International Engineering Co Ltd has signed a turnkey contract with Arabian Cement Co for a 10,000tpd clinker line in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Italcementi's 2014 turnover declined by a further 1.8 per cent to EUR4155.6m but the underlying EBITDA did improve by 3.2 per cent to EUR649.1m. Iran exported 17.5Mt  of cement and clinker in the first 11 months of the current Iranian fiscal year (21 March  2014-19 February 2015), according to the industry's association.
