Lucky Cement Co sees revenue down 12% YoY in 8M21

Taiwan’s Lucky Cement Co has reported a 31.9 per cent YoY decline in August revenue to TWD249.98m (US$9.01m) from TWD366.85m in the year-ago period. In the first eight months of the year, revenue has also decreased 11.5 per cent YoY to TWD2.64bn from TWD2.98bn.

West China Cement sees profit rise 40% YoY

West China Cement has posted a 40.4 per cent YoY rise in attributable profit to CNY1.06bn (US$163.5m) for the first half of 2021, compared to CNY752.3m in the 1H20. Revenue also advanced 40.7 per cent YoY to CNY4.23bn from CNY3bn in the first half of 2020.

China Tianrui Group Cement records 9% rise in revenue

China Tianrui Group Cement has posted a 9.1 per cent YoY increase in revenue to CNY5.73bn (US$882.8m) for the first half of 2021, compared to CNY5.25bn in the year-ago period. Attributable profit also advanced 4.5 per cent YoY to CNY751.6m from CNY719m in the 1H20.

Chia Hsin Cement records 11% rise in revenue

Taiwan’s Chia Hsin Cement has posted a 10.7 per cent increase in revenue to TWD550.39m (US$19.76m) in the second quarter of the year, compared to TWD496.99m in the 2Q20. However, the company has recorded a net loss of TWD162.49m in the same quarter against a TWD139.88m profit in the corresponding period of 2020.

Asia Cement posts 7% rise in revenue

Taiwan’s Asia Cement has recorded a 6.7 per cent YoY rise in revenue to TWD22.08bn (US$792.89m) in the second quarter of the year, compared to TWD20.69bn in the year-ago period. However, net profit saw a 3.3 per cent fall to TWD4.52bn from TWD4.67bn in the 2Q20.

Taiheiyo Cement announces 101% rise in net profit

Japan’s Taiheiyo Cement has posted a revenue of JPY159.6bn (US$1.44bn) in the quarter ending 30 June 2021, down 20.4 per cent on JPY200.56bn in the same period of the previous fiscal. However, net profit surged 101 per cent YoY to JPY6.58bn from JPY3.27bn in the 1QFY21-22.

Taiwan’s Lucky Cement has posted a 19.1 per cent YoY decline in revenue to TWD310.86m (US$11.17m) in July 2021, compared to TWD384.04m in the same month of the previous year. In the first six months of the year, the company also reported an 8.6 per cent decrease in revenue to TWD2.39bn from TWD2.61bn in the 1H20.

Sumitomo Osaka Cement posts 14% rise in profit

Japan’s Sumitomo Osaka Cement has posted a 16.4 per cent YoY decline in profit to JPY43.78bn (US$399.57m) for the quarter ending 30 June 2021, compared to JPY52.35bn in the year-ago period. However, operating profit climbed 13.6 per cent YoY to JPY2.92bn from JPY2.57bn.

Taiwan Cement Corp has finalised the acquisition of a 60.48 per cent share of Italy-based energy storage company Engie EPS SA on 20 July 2021, at a price of EUR17.10 per share and a total investment of EUR132m.
