Bangladesh's cement industry has earned an export revenue of US$5.03m during first six months of the current financial year, FY19-20, compared to US$5.75m earned in 1HFY18-19, a fall of 12.5 per cent YoY. Iran exported 11.4Mt of cement and clinker to 37 countries in the first eight months of the Iranian year from 21 March 2019-21 November 2019. Pakistan overseas export of cement and clinker saw a healthy growth of 21.5 per cent during the first five months of FY19-20 (July-November 2019) to 3.608Mt from 2.97Mt in the year-ago period. Several companies in Paraguay have increased the volume of cement imports from 1000tpm to 6000tpd due to the cement supply shortage in the Latin American country, according to ABC Color. Bangladesh’s government has reduced the rate of advance income tax (AIT) on the import of cement raw materials from five to three per cent, according to The Financial Express. Cement and clinker exports from Indonesia rose 15.4 per cent to 648,354t in November 2019, according to figures published by Semen Indonesia. In November 2018 exports totalled 561,950t.
