The Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) of Pakistan has released cement export data for the 10 months of July 2019 to April 2020. Uzbekistan has resumed the import of cement after the goverment’s 22 May resolution, reports Central Asia News. On 23 April the country had temporarily suspended the import of cement due to the coronavirus pandemic. The measure was put in place to support domestic producers following a decline in demand as construction activity was halted.

Indonesian cement producers have seen a 4.7 per cent uptick in clinker exports to 568,819t in April 2020 when compared with clinker export sales of 543,441t reported in April 2019, according to the country’s cement association, ASI. Exports of cement from Indonesia have fallen by 49.8 per cent YoY to 55,769t in March 2020 when compared with March 2019 when cement exports reached 111,065t, according to data released by ASI, the country’s cement association. Kazakhstan’s Acting Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development has signed an order on the regulation of cement imports. The order introduces a ban on the import on certain types of cement from countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union for a period of six months with effect from 16 April, according to Kazakhstan Newsline.
