Pat Ward has informed the Board at Breedon Group of his intention to retire as group CEO and a director of the company in 2021. Freightliner wins Tarmac train haulage contract

Freightliner has announced that it has been awarded a new contract with Tarmac to haul trains from Tarmac’s Tunstead site, Derbyshire, and services from Tarmac’s West Country quarries. Deliveries will be made to Wales, Somerset and Herefordshire. Breedon’s purchase of certain Cemex assets has raised competition concerns in the supply of building materials in some parts of the UK, the Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) has found.
