Argentina-based producer Loma Negra reported a 41.6 per cent rise in net revenues in the first quarter of 2018 to ARS4534m (US$230m) as the company’s combined cement, masonry and lime sales volumes in Argentina increased 9.5 per cent YoY and prices were favourable. Austria's Asamer Baustoffe is launching a buyout bid for Bosnia-Herzegovina-based Fabrika Cementa Lukavac, following a notice posted with the Sarajevo bourse on Tuesday, reports SeeNews. Colombia's cement market contracts 10% in March

Cement deliveries in the Colombian cement market fell 9.9 per cent YoY to 976,300t in March, according to the country’s national statistics office, DANE. Around 68 per cent, or 668,700t of this total was supplied as bagged cement with a further 307,600t as bulk product. Pakistan cement exports during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (July 2017-March 2018) recorded a YoY fall of 8.5 and 13 per cent in terms of quantity and value in dollar, respectively, says the Federal Bureau of Statistics, Government of Pakistan. India’s Shree Cement has reported a 31.1 per cent YoY rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ending 31 March 2018, increasing to INR3.99bn (US$60.14m) from INR3.04bn. Cemex has announced a 92.3 per cent YoY fall in profit for the 1Q18, decreasing from US$336m to US$26m. The sharp decline has been attributed to higher operating expenses and foreign exchange loss. Grupo Cementos Chihuahua (GCC) reported a 13.6 per cent YoY rise in net sales to US$188.7m in 1Q18. The Mexico-based cement producer saw its EBITDA rise by 40.6 per cent to US$45.9m during the first quarter and improved its EBITDA margin from 19.6 per cent in 1Q17 to 24.3 per cent in 1Q18. India-based Shree Digvijay Cement has announced a 63.1 per cent YoY rise in sales in the fourth quarter, ended March 2018.
